Abstract

The article provides a detailed examination of the process of creating a regional labour demand map in the Mangystau region of Kazakhstan. This study employs the Rapid Foresight methodology, a modern tool for strategic forecasting. The main focus is on identifying and forecasting professional skills that will be in demand in the future, to modify and create new educational programs timely. The results of a large-scale survey, which covered 500 respondents of different age groups, genders, and places of residence (urban and rural), provided a general understanding of the population's level of satisfaction with their work and education. It is noteworthy that the results of the study show that both young people and rural residents are relatively more satisfied with their professional activities and the education they have received. As a result of this agreement, broad opportunities are opening up for more precise and targeted strategic planning of the professional development system in the region. Thanks to this method, it is possible not only to maintain the existing level of satisfaction but also to develop the potential of the rural population and youth. This is especially important for ensuring sustainable socio-economic development in the Mangystau region and maximising the use of human capital in the constantly changing labour market.
