Abstract

The use of hybrid power plants in vehicles operated in urban environments is due to their high environmental performance and low energy consumption compared to traditional internal combustion engines. Environmental performance is achieved by reducing exhaust emissions through the use of converted and stored electricity. Economical performance is achieved through kinetic energy recovery, which increases fuel efficiency. The article discusses and analyzes the issues of development and design of cars with hybrid drive. The principles of constructing hybrid transmissions from parallel and sequential circuits have been analyzed and it has been established that existing hybrid transmission systems cannot withstand serious competition with traditional transmissions. The prerequisites for the use of hybrid transmission schemes have been identified, which demonstrate the advantages of these schemes and make it possible to improve and effectively use the environmental characteristics of an internal combustion engine. The possibility of using a gas turbine engine as a heat engine without a heavy and bulky transmission makes it possible to increase efficiency, power and reduce the weight and dimensions of the vehicle drive.
