This article provides a comprehensive literary-theoretical analysis of Kainekей Zharmaganbetov’s novella “Änshi azamat”, highlighting its genre-specific features and artistic qualities. The work, dedicated to the life and creative path of the renowned Kazakh singer Ämire Qashaubaev, reveals pages of national art history and marks a new stage in the author’s development as a prose writer. The main value of the novella lies in its artistic interpretation of a historical figure’s destiny, which revives the national spirit. By depicting Ämire’s performance on the Paris stage and his role in presenting Kazakh folk song traditions to the world, the author demonstrates the high level of Kazakh culture.
The study employs historical-literary, comparative, and stylistic methods to examine the epic structure of the novella, the authenticity of character portrayal, linguistic mastery, and its cultural-historical significance. Furthermore, the work reflects the fate of national art, the role of the artist in society, and the socio-psychological features of the historical era.
