DEVELOPING STUDENTS’ HISTORICAL THINKING SKILLS THROUGH DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES IN HISTORY EDUCATION

In the modern education system, the rapid development of digital technologies has a significant impact on updating educational content and teaching methods. In particular, the effective use of digital resources in history education serves as an important tool for developing students’ historical thinking skills.
This article examines the role of digital technologies in teaching history and their impact on the development of students’ historical thinking skills. The study analyzed concepts of historical thinking, digital educational platforms, and the effectiveness of interactive methods. In addition, experimental research was conducted, and its results were analyzed. Based on the scientific works of foreign scholars on historical thinking and digital education, the pedagogical significance of using digital technologies in history lessons was demonstrated.
The article discusses the pedagogical possibilities of using digital technologies and analyzes their influence on students’ analytical, critical, and interpretative abilities.
The purpose of the study is to determine the effectiveness of using digital technologies and evaluate their role in the development of historical thinking skills.
A mixed methodology was applied during the research, and the results of the experimental and control groups were compared. The findings showed that the systematic use of digital technologies significantly improves students’ skills in analyzing, comparing, and evaluating historical sources.
The conclusions of the study prove that the effective integration of digital educational tools enhances the quality of history teaching and contributes to the development of higher-order thinking skills among students.
