Today, the transportation of oversized cargo is very popular due to the need to transport various types of special, construction, agricultural, and other equipment. In addition to the need to use specialized rolling stock, the specifics of oversized cargo transportation include many factors that must be taken into account to ensure timely and safe delivery of oversized cargo to its destination. This article explores and analyzes the specifics of creating a material flow for the transportation of large and heavy cargo (LHC). The study revealed the specific features of the group of CTLs transported in the EEC and CIS countries, taking into account the fact that increased cargo parameters require specific approaches to the organization of the transportation process. A study of the dependence of the parameters of the LHC on each other using standard methods revealed a practical absence of correlation links, which confirms the assumption that these are monocargoes that represent a discrete phenomenon. Therefore, the analysis of the characteristics of the cargo in question required the use of the cluster method, which allows for the formation of groups with similar characteristics that differ in the numerical values of a particular parameter. The cluster analysis method enables the scientific classification of LHC to address specific challenges related to their transportation.
