Abstract

One of the main directions in public education on the Mangistau peninsuila at the beginning of the twentieth century was education in religious institutiions, where madrasas becam spiritual centers hearth of that period. According to archival data, the number of mosques in the West Kazahstan region has increased with the strengthening of the Islamic religion. The Mangistau Peninsula becam a region recognized by madrasah mosques aimed at educating the local population. Reliogiously literate individuals who reseiv ed educated in Ufa, Central Asia, not only provided religious education, but also tautht   the population the humanities, natural sciences, and Arabic and Persian sciences.

The construction of madrasah mosques on the Mangistau Peninsula corresponds to the Kazan period and the years of soviet pover. The number of madrasah mosques and the number student for the specified periods are determined by the volosts-villages of the Transcaspian region. Also, documents written under the royal government supplement information about the state of the number the composition of students in madrasah mosques.

Speaking about the madrash – mosques in the region and its role, the statistical data in the archival funds of the region of the madrasah-mosques at the beginning of the centuru are analyze, the conditions or which are documented.
